Marketing campaign boosts local economy after BID renewal success

Our client, local BID organisation, Royston First BID asked us to develop a competition campaign to encourage the community to shop locally over Christmas.

This resulted in the ‘Shop Royston at Christmas’ campaign, to invigorate the local community and support independent shops and eateries during the critically-commercial holiday season.

Competition Campaign Details

Duration: December 1st to December 24th 2023.

Mechanism: Customers entered the campaign competition by scanning QR codes at participating outlets and entering their details.

Prizes: Two prizes were awarded – one for a customer, drawn at random and another for the shop with the most entries.

The Results

  • 536 customers entered the competition from 57 local businesses
  • A Royston resident won, receiving a hamper full of prizes supplied be local businesses
  • The top-performing business, Glazed Creations, with ninety-seven entries, won professionally-designed advertisement space in a magazine

“The Shop Royston campaign competition was a really nice way to thank shoppers for choosing to come to Royston in the run-up to Christmas.”

Local business and BID member, Kelly Liebenberg of Glazed Creations.
