During our initial workshop with UQG, we developed a clear marketing strategy and plan to refresh their logo, design a contemporary e-commerce website and get them started on social media.

UQG Optics has been supplying optical components to global customers for over 65 years. In 2019, they asked C4B Media to be their outsourced marketing partner.

Outsourced Marketing Brief

In 2019, UQG Optics wanted to embark on a new business growth strategy.

Immediate requirements were for a logo/branding refresh and a new international e-commerce website. UQG also needed new social media profiles, a content strategy, an email marketing campaign programme and Google Ads management.

To bring these activities together, we proposed to kick off with a marketing strategy and action plan designed to support their business goals, generate enquiries from potential customers and drive more global sales.

Our Solution

C4B Media started by running a Marketing Strategy Workshop to agree the target market focus, messaging and marketing action plan that would be required.

From there, we created a new set of brand guidelines and refreshed the logo to bring it up to date. Then we built a new, contemporary e-commerce website to showcase the range of optical products offered by UQG Optics.

Alongside the website launch, C4B Media developed a complete marketing plan which involved setting up social media profiles for Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

To complete the range of digital marketing activities we now:

  • Produce regular blogs and articles to a monthly content plan
  • Manage a Google Ads campaign to generate sales and enquiries
  • Manage paid LinkedIn ad campaigns targeted at different audience profiles every month
  • Run a comprehensive SEO activity
  • Write and send monthly email newsletters to UQG’s growing number of email subscribers captured by the website.

Results

Since the new website launched in November 2019, the bounce rate improved by 12%, meaning users are engaging with the website content and finding it more relevant.

From February 2020, there’s been a 115% increase in traffic from social media, over 500% increase in traffic from Google Ads and 100% increase in traffic from email marketing.

Overall, comparing users from February 2020 to February 2021, there’s been a 25% growth in monthly traffic which is growing each month.
